Community search

Does anyone know of any active Oz communities? One that's not pairing specific. I tried doing an interest search but the only non-pairing specific communities I found hadn't been posted to in a couple of years.

If you can't think of any, should I open one?

Yes, it is because I'll be posting another Oz-centric fic soon that led to this query.

Do you know...?

Does anyone know of a website like TVShowsOnDVD.com for books? More specifically, to be notified when books are being released in paperback?

Unless it's just really well-hidden, I don't believe that Amazon.com has this feature. I've looked on more than one occasion. Does one of the other book websites have a feature like that - BN.com or Borders.com?

I generally prefer to read books in paperback, but since those are published later than hard-cover editions, I don't always know when they will be released in my preferred format.

Buffy question

Did Buffy ever get her driver's license?

I know that she asked about getting it in season three at the beginning of Band Candy, but then had an accident in her mom's Jeep. I can't recall if she ever got it though. I don't think we ever saw her driving. She was always the passenger with Giles, Xander and/or Spike.

I'm working on a scene and it's kinda an important detail. Thanks!

Finally! and a request for my fellow ASH fans

I have finally seen some episodes of Manchild! BBC America ran the first three episodes of the first season at 3am last night/this morning, and I remembered to set my VCR. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they plan on showing any more in the near future though. *pout* (I'm going to have to try to remember to keep checking BBCA's schedule.) But I'm still happy that I got to see this other show of ASH's. I've only seen Little Britain a couple of times because I always forget when it's on.

The request part of my post... Can anyone direct me to sites with good pictures of ASH in other roles? Those of you who belong to ripping_icons have probably noticed that I mainly have been using BtVS screencaps and promo shots of ASH. That's because I didn't have images of him in other things. For me, it felt wrong to provide the images when I hadn't seen him in those roles. Stupid, I know. I'm trying to rectify that now. So does anyone have images they can email me or provide links to sites that allow you to use their images?

I'm also fuzzy on the rules for snagging images from LJ comms like ash_daily. Am I allowed to snag/use images people share there in my icontest as long as I include the comm in my User Info resource post?

Oh, and I don't remember who had shared them, but does anyone have the shots of ASH in the leather g-string from Little Britain? I remember looking at them, but stupidly didn't save them.

Does anyone know if there are any websites that have free Jossverse e-cards?

Every time one of my fandom friends has a birthday I think of looking, then run out of time/patience. I figured that this time I would ask my friends to see if there's anyone more observant than me.

I've got a question for you graphic makers out there. I know that some of you have a separate LJ for your graphics/icons posts. My question is this:

Do you find it beneficial having the separate journal? Is it a hassle having more than one LJ in which to post things? Or is it easier since all graphics are in one place?

Any feedback is much appreciated.

Firefly Question

I've got a question for you Firefly fans out there: What happened to Earth to make it "Earth that was"?

This has been bugging me since yesterday, so I figured I'd ask.

I have a question for those of you with archives. How many of you have LJ communities to go with the website? Do you find it used frequently by members?

Given how popular LJ is in our fandom, I've been debating creating an LJ Community to go with Hairy Eyeball, in addition to the Yahoo Group that I automatically set up. I figure it would act in the same manner that the Yahoo Group does: people can post their stories there with the understanding that they'll be archived at the site, post challenges, graphics, etc.

Or for the rest of you non-archivists, which do you prefer to post to: Yahoo Group or LJ Community?

Comments? Suggestions? Yay? Nay?
