Leonard was near the monitor for the storage room they'd put the younger versions of Mick, Sara, and himself in, so he saw their Sara enter the room with Mick.

"Okay, bathroom and food break," Sara announced.

"What about the baby?" Young Sara asked.

"Have Gideon make a bottle when you get some food," Sara suggested. "Bring it back with you."

"Who's Gideon?" Young Mick asked.

"I'll take care of it," Mick said, herding the teenagers out of the room as Young Sara handed baby Snart to Sara.

Leonard paused what he'd been doing to watch Sara alone with the baby version of himself, trying to make sense of the sensation that ran down his spine.

Sara paced, rocking the baby in her arms as she made silly faces at him. "You really are the sweetest baby," she cooed.

Leonard's breath caught at the sudden sense of longing that rushed him like a tidal wave.

"I don't know about you guys, but I could really use a drink," Mick said after they left their younger selves in the care of Rip's foster mother, having defeated The Pilgrim.

"You sure you want to drink with me," Sara teased, smiling smugly. "Wouldn't want you to pass out again."

"You got lucky that time," Mick grunted. "I want a rematch."

"You're on," Sara said, knowing she could drink him under the table anytime, anywhere.

"You in, Partner?" Mick asked.

"Wouldn't miss it," Leonard drawled. "Besides, I'm the one with the good booze."

"You've got more of the Russian vodka?" Sara asked, hopefully.

Leonard's smirk said it all. "You didn't really think that I'd shared it all, did you?"

"Not really," Sara admitted. "Didn't figure you for the kind of crook to give away your entire take."

"Smart woman," Mick said.

It wasn't until Sara and Iris were packing up their college apartment that they even knew how bad their cat, Bandit's, habit of stealing things had gotten.

Sara had found Bandit as a stray shortly after they moved into the apartment just off campus at the beginning of their junior year of college. Iris had been her roommate in the dorms and they got along so well that they decided to remain roommates, just in separate bedrooms.

Bandit had been hanging out in the backyard of their apartment, which was in a three family house, for over a week. Sara put tuna and water out for him and he kept coming back. In fact, he rarely seemed to leave. He didn't have a collar and wasn't declawed, so Sara brought him inside during one bad rainstorm and he never left.

Almost from the beginning, Bandit began to create his own stashes around the apartment from items he found. It was silly things at first: bottle caps, twisty ties, rubber bands, used tissues, and the occasional sock or underwear that had been left on a bedroom floor.

2) Anonymous said: Prompt: Mick is tired of Sara and Leonard ignoring their feelings about each other and does something to end it

Author's Note 2: Title and lyrics from "Only the Good Die Young" by Billy Joel. Some other Billy Joel lyrics are used too.

They were in Seattle in 1997 following up on a lead on Savage. Ray, Kendra, Rip, and Stein were off meeting with their potential contact, leaving the rest of the team to their own devices for the evening.

Having been cooped up on the ship for a while, Leonard invited Mick to go for a walk through the sickeningly domestic neighborhood they were parked near. He still didn't really trust Mick, not after he'd threatened to kill Lisa over and over again, but Sara had been harping at him about making peace, so he extended the olive branch in the only way he knew how. Mick jumped at the opportunity to get off the ship, and hopefully steal something good.

It had been a good six weeks, relatively speaking, since Sara and Leonard shared their first kiss after a rough mission. While they had kept their new relationship status between themselves, they were a little surprised that no one on the ship had figured it out yet.

After all, there were a couple of geniuses on board. Granted, they weren't always so good at recognizing social cues, but it seemed strange that no one had noticed yet.

Sara was sure that Kendra had figured it out a few weeks ago when she'd found Sara straddling Leonard in the gym, fully clothed, but the other woman had just assumed they were sparring and went about her workout. Technically, that's what they'd been doing, aside from kissing once Sara'd gotten him on his back.

Leonard had assumed that Gideon had told Rip, as the ship had demonstrated her penchant for tattling early on. Yet Rip never said anything to them or gave them even a hint of a knowing look.

It suddenly became a game to them, pushing the limits of discretion to see who would notice first.

They still refused to be overt in their affection. They never did anything as blatant as kiss each other in public or allow a touch to last longer than a second when others were around.

It was little things. Holding hands under the kitchen table. Standing a little too close during mission prep. Making sure to always be on the same team in the field, or be the ones who remained on the ship.

A couple more weeks passed and still no one said anything.

They began to flirt more heavily in front of the team and touches began to linger.

A full two months after they'd first gotten together, the suspense was finally getting to them and they decided to just rip off the band aid and tell them.

At dinner that night, sitting next to each other, Sara took Leonard's hand and held it, resting them both on top of the table.

Everyone seemed to pause to stare at the joined hands.

Jax was the first to speak. "Does this mean we're finally talking about it?"

Sara and Leonard looked at each other in surprise.

"You knew?" Leonard drawled.

"Of course we knew," Ray said.

"You guys haven't exactly been subtle," Kendra added.

"Why didn't anyone say anything?" Sara demanded.

"We thought you were trying to be discreet," Rip said.

"We were," Leonard acknowledged.

"And you're all okay with this?" Sara asked.

"It's not our place to 'be okay' with your relationship," Martin said. "So long as you're happy together, that's what matters."

Sara smiled as she looked at Leonard and he squeezed her hand. "We are."

"Now that that matter is settled," Leonard drawled as he released Sara's hand and reached for the nearest serving dish on the table, "What's for dinner?"

Sara looked up from her book as the door to her room opened and Leonard walked in carrying a tray with a sandwich, an apple, and a bottle of water on it. He hadn't bothered knocking after the first time he'd visited her post-injury.

"You didn't have to bring me lunch," Sara chided, setting her book aside.

"It's not like you were coming to get it yourself," Leonard said, setting the tray on her lap and then sitting at the other end of the bed, leaning against the wall with his legs stretched out before him.

It had been three days since Sara had been stabbed in the side while out on a mission. Gideon had been damaged in the fight so Kendra had had to stitch her up. Luckily nothing major had been nicked, but once Gideon was back online and had checked her over, she was still relegated to bed rest.

Leonard had barely left her side since it happened. He'd made himself her dedicated nursemaid - caretaker, he'd corrected her after the first time she'd called him that - immediately, and no one objected. Sara thought that was mostly out of fear.

They had developed a kind of shorthand around each other over the past few months. Words that started out as insults became terms of endearment.

"Be careful, Crook."

"Always am, Assassin."

Neither Sara nor Leonard were big on words. They were people of action who enjoyed their silences.

Words could lie; they could deceive. They could betray you. So it was better not to use them.

Until not using them was a betrayal in itself.

Leonard groaned as he slowly returned to consciousness, the pounding in his head making him want to sink back down into oblivion. He tried to lift a hand to his head and discovered that he couldn't.

There was a sound of metal grating against metal at the movement of his hands that was frustratingly familiar.

With a grunt, he forced his eyes open, squinting against the bright light. It took his eyes a minute to focus enough to confirm what he had been beginning to dread.

He was lying on a concrete floor, head pillowed on his arm, in a barren room, hands cuffed around a pole that was maybe eight inches in diameter. His cold gun was nowhere to be seen and he couldn't feel his goggles around his neck.

And he was alone.

He hoped that meant his foggy memory wasn't playing tricks on him and that Sara and Kendra had really gotten away, and weren't locked up in another room.

Leonard struggled to sit up, his head protesting every movement, but by leaning against the pole, he eventually succeeded. He managed to get his head next to his hands and confirm that his comm was gone, too.

"I guess now we wait," he said aloud.

Author's Note: I struggled with this prompt a lot, so I hope it's what you wanted.

It happened without their knowledge or their consent.

Leonard came into the mission with plans for epic thievery with Mick. If they happened to save the world while making a profit, so be it. He wasn't looking to make friends. He didn't do friendship, let alone any other kind of 'ship, and he was perfectly content that way.

Sara was looking for redemption. She needed to find a way to calm and direct the monster that came back from the Pit with her. So much of her life had depended on someone else - her parents, Ivo, Ollie, Nyssa - now she needed to learn how to trust herself. Without leaning on anyone else.

They hadn't planned on finding someone to complement their darkness. Least of all in each other.

Sure, they claimed that they didn't like each other. They both had images they needed to protect. The cold-hearted crook. The aloof assassin. It's who they were. Or at least who they pretended to be.

Except that they kept slipping up and demonstrating that their words were hollow.

Author's Note: I got distracted from working on one of my prompt requests with this idea. Somehow I don't think that requester will mind.

The urge to fight or fuck was still singing through Sara's veins after Carter's memorial. She tried to remain still and calm, show the proper respect Carter deserved, but her body was distracting her too much and she returned to the ship as soon as she could.

She needed a cold shower and some meditation since neither fighting nor fucking were viable options at present.

Granted, she could probably convince Mick to spar with her pretty easily, but she didn't want that kind of false fight. She needed blood, and she wasn't going to take it from a teammate. Even if he'd make her earn it.

Instead, Sara locked herself in her room and began to run through some basic tai chi forms.

Barely five minutes into her first set there was a knock at the door. Sara paused, holding her stance as her heart raced.

"I know you're in there," came Leonard's voice from the other side of the door. "I'm not leaving until you open up."

The more time that they spent on the Waverider, the more the team learned about each other. Interesting quirks and talents that they may not have expected people to have come to light.

Case in point: Mick was a fantastic cook; especially when it came to breakfast foods or grilling. Granted, he preferred working on a gas stove or a grill - anything with an open flame - but he made do with the electric burners in the galley of the ship.

Once the team discovered what a good cook Mick was, he became the de facto chef for breakfast. They still took turns for the other meals, but breakfast was Mick's domain and everyone was always sure to be there for his cooking.

On one such morning, when Mick was cooking omelets, Sara stumbled her way into the galley, half awake. She filled a mug with coffee and walked over to where Leonard was sitting at the far end of the table. Rather than sitting in the open chair beside him, she sat in his lap, and took a long drink of coffee. Leonard's arm settled around her waist as she drank.

The group got split up during the fight. Sara, Rip, and Ray were outside the warehouse fighting off the second wave of mercenaries, while the others were trapped inside with the original batch.

Savage had slipped away; again.

There was a loud boom and the warehouse exploded, fire rising from the roof and out the windows.

"No," Sara gasped, spinning to look at the warehouse behind them as there was another explosion.

"Leonard," she called out in anguish.

Leonard was on his way to find Sara, knowing that she slept as little as he did, when she turned the corner and nearly barreled into him. She had a glass bottle in one hand and a towel in the other.

"Slow down there, tiger," Leonard said, steadying them both. "No need to rush."

"Oh, Mick's gonna be rushing all right," Sara grumbled, pushing past him.

Leonard turned and easily kept pace with her as she continued her brisk stride to the storage room where her weapons were kept.

Finally able to get a look at what she was carrying, Leonard carefully asked, "Why exactly do you need chloroform at 2AM? You know it doesn't actually work to knock people out like in the movies, right?"
